Blackjack Split

By “split”, one of the first rules of the blackjack, we mean that the player has two cards of identical value and that he wishes to split them to form two different hands. The player then makes an additional bet and the dealer distributes a new card to him, which he will be free to place on the hand he wishes.

This technique is possible when the player has a starting hand composed only of pairs. By splitting your pairs, you create an extra hand and increase your chances of winning. This process can be effective in the case of pairs of 6, 7, or 8.

However, if you have a pair of 9 or 10, you should avoid doing so. Splitting a pair of Aces is also an interesting process.

Description of the action of Blackjack Split:

  • The player receives a hand with two identical cards – for example, a pair of 8;
  • The player, therefore, makes the decision to split the two 8s;
  • The player thus receives two new cards, one for each 8.

Blackjack Double

“Doubling” means that the player is keen to buy a new card. To do this, he must make an additional bet. If the player has a hand with a 3 and a 7, he has a total of 10 points. By betting an additional sum, the player shows the dealer that he intends to “Double”. If the card dealt turns out to be a Queen, the player will now have 20 points, which is a good draw. However, please note that this process is interesting when the player has 10 or even 11 points and when the dealer’s visible card is a small sum – less than 6.

Description of the action: Blackjack Double

  • The player receives a hand that gets a total of 10 or 11;
  • The player, therefore, decides to double his bet;
  • The player gets a new card. Please note, if the new card received is weak, the player will not be able to draw again.

Blackjack Surrender

“Surrender” means that the player makes the decision to lose half of his original bet and does not want to see the dealer’s face-down card. If the player has a hand with a value of 15 points and the dealer has a Jack – his face down card has not yet been revealed, the player may lose if the hand he draws is too strong.

It is desirable for the player to surrender. Thus, the player limits his losses by agreeing to leave half the amount wagered, to the casino. “Surrender” is effective when the player already has a hand whose value is too high: it is an adequate solution in which he can preserve his budget a little.

Description of the action: Blackjack surrender

  • The player receives a complicated hand – for example, 15 points;
  • In front of him, the croupier has revealed his first card and it is a figure;
  • The player can decide to give up in order to take no risk and pocket half of his initial bet.
